Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 23, 2026
Chat3 is a local-first chat workspace. This policy explains what stays on your device or browser, what limited account data we keep, and when selected content is sent to provide features you request.
Information You Connect
When you link, import, or use a supported chat space, Chat3 may process information needed on your device or browser to display, search, organize, analyze, and draft from that chat space, including:
- account identifiers, connector session state, chats, space names, contact identifiers, contact names, profile data, and account status;
- message text, quoted message text, sender information, timestamps, reactions, read state, message types, and related metadata;
- media metadata and, when needed for preview, download, search, or analysis, media files such as images, videos, voice notes, documents, and thumbnails;
- local send ledger entries for user-initiated sends, failed sends, drafts inserted into the composer, and reconciliation state;
- AI outputs, prompt and context snapshots, saved preferences, generated summaries, suggested replies, user-maintained data, drafts, and app navigation or composer state.
Minimal Cloud Collection
Chat3 is designed so most chat details stay in local app or browser storage. We do not run a cloud-hosted chat archive as the normal product path, and we do not persist your full chat history, message archive, contact graph, or media library in our cloud databases.
The cloud information we normally keep is limited to account and service metadata, such as email address, authentication identifiers, privacy/terms consent timestamps, subscription and payment status, usage counts, request identifiers, quota status, billing/refund metadata, support messages you send us, and security or abuse-prevention logs.
When you request a cloud AI or voice feature, Chat3 may transmit the selected prompt, selected recent context, preferences, user-maintained data, style examples, or audio input to compute the requested result. That selected content is processed to return the output to you; it is not saved as a cloud chat archive or persisted as a cloud content ledger.
Local Storage
Chat3 is designed to keep your chat workspace local-first. Native runtime stores for connector session material, source data, and cached media use app-private storage, local bearer-token protected APIs, and encrypted runtime/media storage where implemented by the Chat3 runtime.
The app also keeps a local cache for rendering, interaction, AI prompt snapshots, and context previews. Native and browser builds use encrypted local database storage where supported, with keys protected by the operating system or browser storage controls. Public web builds may fail closed if required encrypted browser runtime storage is unavailable.
You are responsible for the security of your device, browser profile, backups, operating system account, and any device-level encryption or lock-screen settings.
Reminders and Scheduled AI Actions
Reminder and scheduled AI settings are designed to stay local to your app or browser where the platform allows. Web reminders are best-effort local/browser features and may require opening Chat3 to run with the latest local data. We do not store chat messages, prompt snapshots, or reminder instructions as cloud reminder records in the normal product path.
Cloud Account and AI Processing
Chat3 AI requires a cloud sign-in. When you sign in, we process your email address, authentication identifiers, session metadata, and the time at which you accepted this policy or related terms.
When you ask Chat3 AI to generate, summarize, rephrase, suggest a reply, work with user-maintained data, run a scheduled action, or transcribe voice input, Chat3 may send only the selected prompt and relevant selected context for that request, plus preferences, style examples, or audio input when needed, to our cloud backend and AI service providers. This is done to perform the requested action, enforce usage limits, and return results.
We do not authorize AI service providers to use selected chat content, prompts, table snapshots, audio input, or generated results to train models unless you separately direct or agree to that use. Provider-side processing, safety review, operational logging, legal compliance, deletion, and retention are governed by the provider's own terms and privacy commitments and by the provider settings or agreements available to us. Chat3 does not represent that third-party AI providers retain no data.
Chat3's cloud usage records are designed to store usage and billing metadata such as request identifiers, task category, usage counts, plan, and usage percentage. They are designed not to store message content, prompt text, generated content, or raw audio.
Payments and Subscriptions
If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor may collect payment method details, billing details, tax-related information, fraud-prevention signals, and payment status. Chat3 stores subscription metadata needed to provide the service, such as your plan, subscription status, renewal status, billing period, provider identifiers, checkout attempts, refund status, and user-visible refund quote fields.
We do not store full payment card numbers in Chat3.
How We Use Information
- to provide the local chat workspace, search, previews, media handling, and user-operated sending flows;
- to generate user-requested AI outputs and voice transcriptions;
- to maintain authentication, subscription status, usage limits, abuse prevention, reliability, and security;
- to process payments, plan changes, cancellations, service-incident refunds, taxes, and support requests;
- to comply with law, enforce our terms, investigate abuse, and protect users, Chat3, us, and third parties.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your chat content, contact graph, or behavioral profile. We do not use your chat archive for advertising.
We may share information with service providers that help us operate Chat3, including cloud hosting, authentication, database, edge-function, payment, fraud-prevention, analytics, support, and AI service providers. They process information for us or for the service you requested. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate misuse, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
Your Controls
- You choose when to link or unlink a supported chat account or connector.
- You can clear local media cache or local archive data through Chat3 where those controls are available.
- Disconnecting a chat connector does not automatically delete all local archive data unless you choose the local-data removal option.
- Clearing app data, uninstalling the app, or clearing browser storage may remove local Chat3 data on that device.
- You can sign out of Chat3 AI without disconnecting your local chat connector.
- You can contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy assistance for cloud account data we control.
Some records may be retained where necessary for security, fraud prevention, billing, tax, accounting, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or enforcement.
Retention
Local chat workspace data remains on your device or browser until you delete it, clear it, uninstall the app, clear browser storage, or the app removes it as part of a feature. Cloud account, subscription, support, and usage records are retained for as long as needed to provide Chat3, comply with law, resolve disputes, maintain security, and enforce our agreements.
Security
We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect personal data, including access controls, authentication checks, local API token boundaries, private local file permissions, encrypted local stores where supported, backend access restrictions, and provider-side security controls. No system is perfectly secure, and Chat3 depends in part on the security of your device, browser, operating system, network, and third-party services.
International Processing
Chat3 is operated from Singapore and may use service providers in other countries. By using Chat3, you understand that information may be processed in Singapore and other jurisdictions where we or our service providers operate.
Children
Chat3 is not directed to children under 13, or to anyone below the minimum age required to use the relevant connected service in their country or territory. If you believe a child has provided personal data to Chat3 without appropriate permission, contact us.
Supported Connectors
Chat3 is built as a chat spaces workspace and AI assistance layer. Current connector support includes WhatsApp. Third-party chat services are independent from Chat3 and may apply their own terms, policies, limits, and technical changes.
Changes
We may update this policy as Chat3 changes. If the changes are material, we will provide notice in a reasonable way, such as updating this page, notifying you in the app, or asking you to accept updated terms where appropriate.
